The property market in Italy appears set to revive, as a number of industry statistics indicate growing interest from international buyers.
International estate agents Savills has announced soaring enquiries from potential buyers, with three times as many people showing interest in a home in Italy in January 2015 as one year before. The company puts this down to a surge in purchasers in the UK and USA, spurred on by beneficial exchange rates against the euro.
Elsewhere, the PwC and Urban Land Institute’s ‘Emerging Trends in Real Estate Europe 2015’ report has pointed to Italy as offering some of the best property opportunities in Europe, highlighting Puglia, Lake Como and Tuscany as among the best places to invest.
And according to overseas property portal Rightmove Overseas, Italy made the top five destinations in April 2015, based on the number of searches made by visitors to their website. Again, Tuscany is the area in most demand.
